Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、日本、韓国、豪州という、インド太平洋における米国の同盟国において、一般大衆と政策エリートという二つのグループにおける核をめぐる政策形成において最も重要な要因を分析し、核政策選択の構造を明らかにする。核に対する姿勢を形成する要因として、①対外脅威認識、②-a.同盟そのものの信頼性、②-b.拡大核抑止のコミットメントの信憑性、③国際的な核廃絶の規範・道義性、の四つの仮説の中でいずれが最も妥当か、国別に選好の違いを明らかにする。一般に対してはサーベイ実験を、政策エリートに対してはstructured interviewsの手法を用い、各国の政策形成要因の類似性と相違点を三か国間で比較する。
