国内中小企業は海外に進出することで成長したのか、本研究の目的はこの問いに答えることにある。ここでは海外進出した中小企業の国内・外（連結）売上の推移を成長として捉え、成長率ごとにみる企業の割合、その成長は国内・外のどちらによってもたらされたのか、さらに高成長率企業、低成長率企業はどのような特徴を持っているのかを明らかにする。
