Outline of Research at the Start

This research will employ a three-step methodology: synthesizing uniform SmCo5 nanoparticles by thermal plasma process, preparing anisotropic single-domain Sm-Co nanoparticles through wet-jet milling, and forming exchange coupled hybrid nano-magnet particles by physical vapor deposition. This advanced hybrid nanomagnet particles are expected to serve as the optimal precursor materials for realizing high performance permanent magnets, due to their inherent nanoscale microstructure.
