Outline of Research at the Start

アルコール類は我々の生活を支える有機化合物である。その重要性から、数多くの合成研究がなされてきた。本研究では、複数の水酸基を有するアルコール類（ポリオール類）に着目した。ポリオール類には、未だ合成が難しいものが数多く残されている。それらを作るための方法として、酵素を用いた新しい方法の開発に取り組む。あわせて、酵素反応の仕組みを解明するとともに、新規ポリオール類の生物活性を評価する。一連の研究から、生活の質の向上に資する、有用なポリオール類を創出するための学術基盤を構築する。
