Outline of Research at the Start

犬に多く発生する血管肉腫は進行が速く、有効な治療法が存在しない。本研究では、血管やリンパ管の形成に関与する因子であるVEGFAおよびVEGFCに着目し、それぞれの役割と関連する腫瘍細胞の性質を明らかにする。また、その性質をもとに，血管肉腫の細分類を定義する。これにより、血管肉腫の新たな細分類の提案と治療法開発に資する知見を得ることを目的とする。得られた成果は、動物医療のみならず人医療への波及効果も期待される。
