Outline of Research at the Start

原始地球で誕生した最初の自己複製体は短い単純なRNAであったと考えられているが、実験的な証拠がない。本研究では、近年見つかった短い自己複製RNAを基に、複数の進化分子工学的手法を用いて、持続的に自己複製し、進化する最小のRNAを開発する。これにより、原始的な自己複製RNAの存在可能性を支持する証拠を提示する。
