Outline of Research at the Start

免疫系は病原体を排除して個体の健康を保つ一方で、その機能異常は自己免疫疾患や感染症、がんなどの疾患発症に繋がる。関節リウマチは関節の滑膜における炎症と骨破壊をおもな症状とする、最も罹患率の高い自己免疫疾患の一つである。自己抗原を認識するT細胞の活性化に端を発し、さまざまな免疫細胞や線維芽細胞が増殖・活性化し、関節の炎症や骨・軟骨の破壊に至るが、病態形成のメカニズムは不明な点が多い。免疫-間葉系-骨連関を探求することで発症や慢性化のメカニズムを明らかにすることを目的とする。
