Outline of Research at the Start

治療薬が効かない難治てんかんの創薬は重要である。研究代表者はこれまで、難治てんかんに有効なケトン食療法に着目し、難治てんかんに有効な新薬候補化合物を見出してきた。この新薬候補化合物は既存てんかん治療薬と異なり、脳内代謝経路に作用しててんかん発作を抑制する。そこで本研究では、この作用メカニズムを包括的に解析することにより、てんかん代謝を狙う新規創薬基盤を確立する。
