Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、ある酵素に着目し、実験動物を用いて異所性骨化を惹起し、その機序を筋芽細胞にて解明する。同様に実験動物の脊柱靱帯にも異所性骨化を誘発し、脊柱靱帯骨化症モデルの確立を目指す。また実際の脊柱靱帯骨化症との関連を証明するために、靱帯骨化症患者の血液サンプルから酵素の発現量などを解析し、肥満や糖尿病など骨化症の危険因子とされている項目との相関を調べる。さらに本酵素に関わる機序をブロックすることで治療薬の抄出を目指す。
