Outline of Research at the Start

高齢化により尿便失禁が増え、高齢者がオムツを使うことが多くなっている。その結果、尿や便が皮膚に触れることで「失禁関連皮膚炎（IAD）」が起こりやすくなり、疼痛や感染による患者QOLの低下が問題である。IADを効果的に予防するには、IAD発症を予測できればよいが、そのような方法は皆無である。一方、我々の先行研究で、オムツ内の皮膚を清拭しても、便に含まれる菌が皮膚の中に残っていることがわかっており、これがIADの原因になっている可能性が示唆された。そこで本研究では、IADに関わる菌を特定し、その菌の存在を迅速遺伝子検査によって同定する「IAD予測ポイントオブケア検査法」を開発する。
