Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、ミャンマーのGenZ主導のPeople Power運動と、それを支えるディアスポラと88世代の支援活動を調査し、国民の結束や民主化運動の持続性において各集団が果たす役割を明らかにすることである。民主化の第3の波以降、外国の介入なく独裁政権を倒した国は少なく、ミャンマーでも分断が障壁となり運動は失敗してきた。しかし現運動では、クーデターから4年以上経った今も国民は団結して国軍を劣勢に追い込んでいる。背景には、過去の失敗を分析するGenZと、それを支援するディアスポラや88世代の協働がある。本研究は彼らの役割を検討し、分断社会の民主化促進に向けた新たな民主化モデルの構築を目指す。
