Outline of Research at the Start

名桜大学や沖縄科学技術大学院大学（OIST）、更にOIST発ベンチャーメタブル合同会社との協働で、１．長寿者の腸内・口腔内細菌叢の加齢による変化と認知能力の関係、２．各長寿者の家系を縦に見ていく調査を実施する。これまで、ある地域の長寿者の腸内細菌叢調査は多々行われてきた。しかし、その家系を縦に追いかけ、調べる研究は少ない。本研究では、これまでの調査・探索と異なり、単に腸内、口腔内細菌叢を調べるだけでなく、最新のバイオインフォマティクス解析技術を取り入れ、・主たる生活場所、・生活様式、・食生活全般も併せて調査し、認知能力との関連性やメタボローム解析することで、“健康で長寿”の秘密を明らかにする。
