Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、生殖倫理における「非対称性」テーゼが正確に何を意味し、いかなる根拠によって支えられるのか、という問いに取り組む。このテーゼは「不幸な人生を送る子どもをもうけるべきでないが、幸福な人生を送る子どもを積極的にもうけるべきというわけではない」のように表現される。生殖倫理において、広く受けいれられた常識道徳と位置づけられ、その議論を大きく方向づけてきた。他方で、このテーゼには、解明すべき不明瞭な点が残る。このテーゼの解明によって、世代間正義や生殖の自己決定など、生殖をめぐる現実の諸問題を解決するために参照可能な、具体的指針の明確化に寄与することを目指す。
