Outline of Research at the Start

代表者は既に、インド仏教史上主要な大乗経典である『八千頌般若』がいかなる経過を経て現行の形態へと変容したのかを明らかにした。本研究では、インド仏教最後期といえる12世紀に東インドのジャガッダラ寺（現バングラデシュ）で著された『世尊母の伝承に随順したものという解説』（『八千頌般若』に対する注釈書）の解読研究を行う。これにより、従来未解明であった、12世紀インド仏教における『八千頌般若』の位置付けを鮮明化することができる。またこの作品における経論の引用状況の調査によって、後期インド仏教における他の経論の受容状況を明らかにすることも可能となる。後期インド仏教の様相解明へとつながるものと期待される。
