Outline of Research at the Start

日本は古代から太陰太陽暦を採用してきたが、明治6年に太陽暦へと改暦した。通念的に
はグローバルスタンダードの暦を採用したと理解されるが、そこに至るまでには太陽暦
としても多様な案があった。本研究では、「太陽暦」が日本人にどのように理解・受容さ
れてきたかを、幕末に遡り仏教、国学、陰陽道、儒学の立場からその思想形成と影響関係
を考察し、明治改暦期にそれらがいかなる形で結実したかを見定めようとする。これにより、幕末・明治期の西洋天文学が仏教、国学、陰陽道、儒学、洋学、キリスト教に与えた影響と、これらの相互関係や当時の社会における思想伝統の政治的・思想的布置を、暦という視座を通じて明らかにする。
