Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、市民の政治参加のありようが大きく変化するヴィクトリア時代に注目する。この時代は、産業構造の変化に伴い、教育のあり方が大きく変化した。例えば「国民教育制度」の導入のように国家が公教育の整備に着手した時代でもある。この時代における教育制度の整備を、「私的領域」、「公的領域」「公共圏的領域」に分け、特に任意団体を主体に整備されていった「公共圏的領域」における教育実践とその思想的な背景を探求する。職工協会など様々な任意団体の活動を、その参加者の属性に注目し、参加者の社会的紐帯を可視化することを試みる。そしてこのような分析を基盤に、社会と教育の編成過程を思想史的に探求する。
