Outline of Research at the Start

表現内容だけでなく、表現手段自体にも着目させるという性質をもつマンガで描かれた暴力が、どのように読者に体験され、暴力の記号やリアリティがどのように伝達されるのか、という問題を解明しようとする研究である。具体的には、表現自体の暴力性と描写された内容の暴力性の違い、作中人物と読者の認知の差異、被害者の痛みへの想像力、共感を生み出すマンガのメカニズムを考察する。暴力の背景を読者に理解させるコンテクストは、写実的ではない画風による暴力描写にどのようにリアリティを付与するのか、という問題にも留意する。
