Outline of Research at the Start	1990年代以降、無声映画期に用いられた種々の色彩表現（手彩色、ステンシル・カラー、染色、調色等）は、欧米においては無声映画の技術と美学の重要な一部をなすものとして再認識され、色彩情報の保存や再現が活発に議論されるようになっている。本研究は、ドイツ語圏を中心とするヨーロッパの無声映画における色彩表現とポストプロダクションとの密接な関係性を明らかにした前課題の成果を受け、これを参照項として、日本映画の色彩表現の技術的・美学的特徴を、文献資料と現物資料の双方から明らかにし、日本映画の技術および美学の一般性と特異性を国際的な評価基準に則して評価することを目指すものである。
