Outline of Research at the Start	ピエール・ピュヴィス・ド・シャヴァンヌは、19世紀の後半のフランスでフレスコ画風の様式を確立し、多くの公的壁画を受注したことで知られる。その活動はアンリ・ド・シダネル、アルフォンス・オスベール、アレクサンドル・セオンら象徴主義の画家達に大きな影響を与えたとされるが、ピュヴィスと象徴主義の関係は必ずしも明らかになっていない。本研究では、ピュヴィスのフレスコ画風の様式の確立と象徴主義の関係について、主に壁画という観点から明らかにする。
