Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、植民地期朝鮮において女性書家・書画家に関する基礎的調査とともに、妓生出身者の活動に着目することで、彼女らの活動とその後の展開について明らかにすることを目的とするものである。従来の研究では、近代以降導入された「美術」の枠組みで女性画家が注目されることはあっても、書家・書画家として活躍した女性たちに着目したものは僅かであった。本研究では先行研究において課題とされている女性書家・書画家について、歌舞や詩書画を教養にもつ芸妓である妓生（キセン）らの伝統芸能・芸術に関する詳細な調査・研究を通して明らかにする。
