Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、仏教儀礼という視座から中世禅林における絵画作品を照射し、その具体的な使用形態と絵画機能とを解明しようとするものである。禅宗寺院内で用いられた羅漢図・観音図・祖師図などの各作品を対象として、それらの図像・様式・表現技法・素材等に関する作品情報を網羅的に収集してその史的位置を定め、さらに清規を中心とする儀礼テクストと比較照合することにより、儀礼内容と図様表現との連関性および儀礼空間における絵画の使用実態とを明らかにする。
