Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、占領期から1960年代半ばにかけての日本の映像メディアにおけるハワイの描かれ方を通して、戦後日米関係の表象を総合的に分析することを目的とする。敗戦から再出発した日本が、海外旅行自由化を迎えるまでの時期に、映画やテレビはハワイをいかに提示し、どのような価値を与えていたのかを明らかにする。映像作品の分析、文献調査、関係者の証言を通じ、アメリカ本土とは異なるハワイの位置づけを考察する。
