Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、徳島県で活動した宇水健祐、悦田喜和雄、岡田みゆき、佃實夫等の作家に注目し、それらの作家の作品や資料を網羅的に調査・収集することをめざす。また、新潟県高田市など徳島県以外の地域についても研究対象とし、多角的に地域文学の特徴を解明することをめざす。上記の研究を行う際に、日本近代文学研究の研究動向や文学理論等にも目を配り、地域文学についての新しい視角を提供することもめざす。
