Outline of Research at the Start	本研究の目的は、冷戦期のアメリカ文化戦略の文脈にT. S. エリオットを置き、プリントカルチャーを中心とした文化的側面と、新批評という学問的側面から、詩人エリオットの文化的意味を考察することである。具体的には、以下の３つの観点から研究を進めることで、モダニズム文学と冷戦の文化戦略の繋がりを明らかにする。 ①冷戦期におけるプリントカルチャーのネットワーク ②アメリカの文化戦略におけるエリオットの位置付け ③日本に導入された新批評におけるエリオットの学問的位置付け冷戦という視点から、エリオットの詩論や伝統観と新批評との関係性を再考することによって、日本の文学研究史に新しい知見を加えることができる。
