Outline of Research at the Start

This project explores renderings, representations, and resistance to climate/environmental threats in the Great Lakes region. It examines literature from this border region alongside disparate forms of creative expression in Canada and the United States; considers classic nature writing alongside speculative/futurist works; focuses attention on marginalized groups and the non-humans affected by environmental crises in the region; investigates links between environmental violence and human rights abuses; and underscores ways climate/environmental activism intersects with other social movements.
