本研究は、アメリカ出身のモダニスト詩人エズラ・パウンドのライフワーク『詩篇』に見られる自然描写の性質を明らかにし、その意味を現代文明批判、楽園像、儒教的自然観、フーガ的スタイルの観点から解明することを目的とする。研究は主として『詩篇』とそのソーステクストの文献調査に拠り、研究成果は国内外の学会にて発表し、後日、論文の形で発表する。
