Outline of Research at the Start

フランス象徴派の研究では、文体論や言語学による作者や作品の分析が豊富な反面、読者の解釈行為に焦点を合わせた、作品受容の観点からの研究が極端に少ない。またマラルメを首領とするパリ右岸グループの研究は盛んだが、1890年代の『メルキュール・ド・フランス』誌を中心とする左岸グループはほぼ検討されていない。この若いグループの詩学の中心には、作品をどう読ませるかという問いがあり、読者の役割を極限まで高めることで、彼らは象徴主義を根底から作り変えた。本研究ではその代表例となるアルフレッド・ジャリ（1873-1907）による「書物」の概念を、受容理論と「作品編集」の観点から明らかにする。
