Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、ギリシャ修辞学と比較したラテン修辞学の独自性を、ローマにおける修辞学研究・教育の黎明期である紀元前1世紀に書かれた『ヘレンニウス宛弁論術』の研究を通じて明らかにする。古代ギリシャの修辞学はローマでも普及したため、ギリシャ・ローマの修辞学はしばしば一つのものと見なされ、その理論体系も一体のものとして扱われることが多い。しかし実際には、両者はそれぞれの言語・社会・文化に応じて異なっている。本研究はその相違の発生を、ラテン修辞学の初期段階における独自性に注目して解明することで、古代ギリシャ・ローマの修辞学史、文化史、また広く異文化間の相互関係について考究するものである。
