Outline of Research at the Start

視覚以外、とりわけ嗅覚、聴覚にかかる指示詞の使い分けを包括的に対照分析することで、指示詞選択メカニズムの本質に迫り、ダイクシスの認知言語学的類型論に貢献することを目指す。
実体が見えない「匂い」や「聞こえ」の現場指示についての研究は十分ではない。英語は、従来の現場指示用法研究の射程に収まらないダイクシスのよりダイナミックな側面の現れと考えられる指示詞選択を示す。本研究は、同様の特異な指示詞選択が他言語にみられるか言語類型論的に実相を明らかにし、当該の知覚刺激の及ぶ領域、その「起点」「経路」「着点」という概念を導入しすることで言語類型論的に妥当な説明ができるか検証を試みる。
