Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、①近世アイヌ語研究、②地理言語学的研究、③統計学との共同研究 を三本柱とし、

１．「近世アイヌ語資料」を用いた基礎語彙に頼らないアイヌ語方言の研究
２．統計学的研究をアイヌ語方言に用いるためのデータの収集と整備

を行うための基礎的な研究である。アイヌ語方言の研究は、1955～70年代に記録された基礎語彙のデータによって統計学的・言語地理学的な研究が進められてきた。本研究では、基礎語彙の記録を目的としない資料、つまり17～19世紀に成立した近世アイヌ語資料を言語学的・統計学的に適切に扱うことで、その言語資料の方言的な特徴を基礎語彙以外のデータからも導くことを最終的な達成目標とする。
