Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、平安鎌倉期の仏教テクスト（聖教）の原本調査および語学的分析を通じて、僧侶の言語活動の所産である諸文体（僧侶書記用文体）の言語的特徴を明らかにすることである。とくに僧侶の学問的活動に関わる聖教を中心に、表記・用語・構文・文章構造を観点とした文体の記述を行い、聖教の性格（内容・形式・目的等）により異なる姿を呈する書記用文体の実態解明を進める。そのために、未公刊資料の原本調査を行い、言語データベースの構築および分析を行う。言語的特徴に基づく文体把握が進展することによって、僧侶の書記用文体（和化漢文・漢字片仮名交じり文）が日本語の歴史において果たした役割を明確にすることが可能となる。
