Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は日本語の助動詞「ようだ」を取り上げるものである。共通語の「ようだ」については助動詞「らしい」に近い〈推定〉の用法などが知られているが，関東各地の方言においては「なければならない」に近い〈必要〉の用法があるとする報告がある。しかし，この用法については散発的な報告に留まっており，体系的な文法記述を欠く上に地理的な分布や歴史的な変遷が明らかになっていない現状にある。これを踏まえ，本研究ではアンケート調査に基づいた関東各地の方言と共通語の比較や用例調査に基づいた古典語と現代語の比較を通して〈推定〉や〈必要〉を表す「ようだ」の体系的な文法記述を目指す。
