Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、会話参加者間の距離の調整に着目し、日本語の配慮表現の現在とそこに至る変化の諸相を探究する。
歴史社会言語学・歴史語用論では、距離をおく配慮から親しさを表す配慮へ、という変化が指摘されている。日本語における距離の調整の手段には、「レル敬語」などが挙げられる。レル敬語は尊敬語の形式の一つであり、「読まれる・始められる」のように助動詞「れる・られる」が用いられ、敬意の度合いの軽さが指摘される一方、使用の簡便さなどが好まれているともいう。本研究では、その実態や現在に至る変化の過程を、コーパスなどからの用例調査や世代別意識調査に基づき探索する。そして、通言語的な配慮表現の研究に貢献する。
