Outline of Research at the Start

生成文法の極小主義プログラムのボックス理論で、非項移動が統語構造上では起こらないとされる妥当性の検証を試み、いわゆる項/非項の区分、それぞれの項移動/非項移動という概念の精緻化を目標とする。
極小主義プログラムでは統語構造の構築に併合操作のみを仮定し、いわゆる基底生成にあたる外的併合と移動にあたる内的併合という二種の適用方式が考えられている。ボックス理論では、一度移動した、即ち内的併合された要素は再度内的併合の適用は受けないとされている。本研究では、いわゆる修飾語とされる疑問詞の移動、すなわち非項移動がボックス理論でいかに扱われるべきか、特に連続循環長距離移動の性質を究明することを目標とする。
