Outline of Research at the Start

外国語としての英語のリスニングにおいて，学習者が音声を「速い」と感じる場合，その主な要因は，語彙・内容などのコンテンツ自体の難易度が高く処理が間に合わないか，英語の音韻の知覚が自動化されておらず，聞き取れないかである。学習・教育の場では学習者が「音声が速い」と感じる場合には，発話速度が下げられることが多い。しかし，発話には言語情報をもつ音声部分とその間の無音区間（ポーズ）が含まれ，発話部分の速度（調音速度）を操作することと，ポーズの長さを操作することでは，効果は異なる。本研究ではそれぞれの役割を突き詰め，各学習者が直面している難しさに応じた音声教材選択のための基礎理論の構築をめざす。
