Outline of Research at the Start

日本語と英語の仕組み（言語構造）と働き（言語機能）を比較対照し観察・思考することで活性化されたメタ言語能力が、英語産出にどう影響しているかについて実証的には解明されていない。本研究では、名詞(句)に限定し、母語の語彙の仕組みと働きに関わる概念的知識（意味情報）が、第二言語の英語の意味範疇に転移し（メタ言語能力の活性化）、第二言語産出に影響を与えるのかを、研究課題の核心をなす学術的「問い」として設定した。
本研究は、転移の影響を受けるとされる意味範疇には、言語構造（言語形式）だけでなく言語機能も含まれるという仮説を明らかにする点で新規性があり、語彙習得研究への国際的貢献の可能性がおおいに示唆される。
