Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、7世紀から9世紀の日本において、 ①王権儀礼に見る中国礼制の受容と排除、 ②女帝出現を可能にした王権構造と社会状況を、東アジアの王権（古代朝鮮）との比較（比較王制史）によって検討し、古代王権の特質に迫るものである。東アジアにおいて女性君主は、唐の武則天、新羅の善徳・真徳・真聖女王とわ・日本で出現するが、王権構造や王権内の女性の位置づける。また、祭祀儀礼については、中国の礼制との受容、排除の在り方、また祭祀儀礼の主体などの比較を通して、その相違点を明らかにする、併せて、女王の存在が確認され、阮朝時代の祭天祭祀（天壇）や宗廟が残るベトナムも視野に入れる。
