Outline of Research at the Start

武断政治から文治政治に転換するという近世前期政治史の古典的枠組みは、近年成り立たなくなっているが、歴史展開を把握する新たな枠組みは、いまだ提示されていない。
本研究では、近年の研究の武家社会内部偏重への反省から統治構造・理念に焦点をあて、個別具体的な近世大名家（土佐藩山内家）を中核事例として取り上げ、近世国家成立過程の諸段階を把握して歴史展開を説明するための道筋を具体的に提示する。個別事例に沈潜しつつ新たな研究の方向性を探る本研究は、中核事例（土佐藩政史）の提示と理論（近世政治史の方法論）構築の両面において、今後の歴史学研究の重要な基盤となる可能性を持つ。
