Outline of Research at the Start

公儀普請研究で検討が不十分であった大名「家中組」の存在とその役割、石垣勾配の設計技術に注目し、①考古学と②文献史学の二つの方法からアプローチする。①では石垣面に残る刻印や界線を観察し「家中組」による分担施工の事実を収集する。大名家の多様な技術が幕府の管理強化とともにどのように変化したのかを探る。②では各地の藩政史料から家中組に関する記述をできるかぎり抽出し、その編成原理と生産性向上に果たした役割を考察する。
最終的には両者を統合し、生産システム（技術）と管理システム（組織）の発展とその相互関係によって大規模建設プロジェクトが可能となったという仮説を検証していく。
