Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、中世初期北インドの政治史を、環境と歴史的過程の差異により、相異なる資源と統治システムを有するに至った諸地域勢力間の相互作用として、新たに叙述する。具体的には、中世初期の北インドに興った各地域勢力、特にパーラ朝と隣接諸勢力の交渉・抗争を、それらによる資源の経済的・軍事的利用・動員の態様や各地域の社会経済的構造変動と関連付けて叙述する。また、南アジア諸地域と内陸アジア・西アジア・東南アジアとの接続の在り方と、統治システムや資源動員へのその影響も、叙述の重要な要素として取り入れる。インド・バングラデシュ・欧州での現地調査による新出碑文史料の発見・校訂にも努め、それらを叙述に包含する。
