Outline of Research at the Start	近代朝鮮の言語問題については、長らく、植民地期の日本語強制政策と抵抗運動としての民族語（朝鮮語）規範化運動という枠組みでイメージされてきた。一方、1990年代後半以降、後者における支配者（朝鮮総督府・日本人研究者）との接触とその歴史的意味について考察する研究が、教育史、朝鮮語学史、言語思想史などの分野で増えてきた。本研究では、従来の研究を批判的に検討し、社会史的観点から近代朝鮮の言語問題をとらえ返すことで、単純な二項対立の図式ではなく、日本（語）と朝鮮（語）との間で作用する力学関係の複雑な様相を明らかにしたい。
