Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、オスマン帝国の法廷文書をジェンダーの視点から読み解くことにより、オスマン帝国社会におけるジェンダー関係を再考する研究である。具体的には、18世紀オスマン帝国下のアナトリア地方の法廷台帳を利用し、訴訟、婚姻・離婚、暴力という3つのサブテーマに関して、法廷台帳の批判的分析を通じて、地方社会におけるジェンダー関係と女性のエージェンシー（行為主体性）を探究する。すなわち、法廷においてジェンダーをめぐる問題がどのように現れ、そこに女性の主体的意図や行動が読み取れるのか、という問題を考察し、オスマン帝国ジェンダー史・法社会史に独自の貢献をすることをめざす。
