Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、10-16世紀ラージャスターンの国家システムの歴史的展開について、数十村レベルの在地支配層と王朝権力との関係を分析することを通して明らかにする研究である。本研究の対象時代は、13世紀以前はサンスクリット語史料、14世紀以降はラージャスターニー語・ペルシア語史料であるために研究上の分断が存在するが、本研究は両時代を橋渡しする史料として刻文を一貫して使用することで、研究上の分断を乗り越える可能性を有す。それによって、14世紀のユーラシア・レベルの変動を経由して、既存の王権を従属下に置く国家システムから既存の王権を排除する国家システムへと体制が大きく転換していくプロセスを明らかにする。
