Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、日本帝国本土、植民地、北米日系社会に拡大した日本近代書道から見えるナショナリズムをグローバル・ヒストリーの手法から解明することである。特に、近代書道をめぐる産業・教育・思想・芸術活動が日本帝国の植民地拡大と日本人の国際移動という越境現象・活動に伴い拡散した過程に着目する。さらに、複数分野を融合した歴史学的手法の実践を試みる。近代書道をめぐる複数地域の連関を明らかにするためにグローバル・ヒストリー、日本帝国内外の人や書に関わる技術・思想・作法の移動を解明するために日本人移民史と日本帝国植民地史、書道文化を体系的に分析するために書道史という複数の歴史学的手法を組み合わせ研究を行う。
