Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、葬送習俗の中でもとりわけ保守的で基層観念を強く反映したと考えられる埋葬時の遺骸の姿勢について、縄文時代から古墳時代（併行期）の事例を列島全土的に資料化し、日本列島の埋葬姿勢の時期的・地域的動態とその背景、埋葬姿勢から見た東アジアにおける日本列島原始古代の文化系譜、屈肢行為と共同体規制から考える列島各地域の社会関係の３点を、解明・提示するものである。
