Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、ペルー北海岸ネペーニャ谷に位置するスーテ・バホI遺跡およびその周辺の関連遺跡を対象に調査を展開する。形成期中期から後期にかけて建設・利用されたこの建築の性質や構造、周辺遺跡との関係を明らかにすることで、モニュメント建築出現のプロセスに迫る。アンデス文明形成期の人びとがもつ抽象概念が、いかに自然景観に投影され、モニュメント建築の空間や機能へと翻訳・具現化されたのかを検証する。また、それらが社会にどのような影響を与え、さらに遠隔地に住まう人びととどのように共有されていったのか、その過程を明らかにすることで、文明形成の過程に対する理解の深化に寄与することを目指す。
