Outline of Research at the Start

福岡平野に比定される奴国は，中国史書に記された最古の「クニ」である。早くから王墓の存在が知られていたが，ここ30年余の間にも大規模な工房群や，都市域中央を貫く街路の発見など，奴国最盛期の様相が判明しつつある。一方で，この奴国がどのように勃興したかは明らかでない。弥生時代中期初頭・前葉段階の段階に舶載青銅器を多数保有していたのは福岡平野でなく西隣の早良平野の勢力であった。本研究は，この早良平野から福岡平野への交替劇の解明を見据えており，まずは鉄器の入手という点に注目して，鉄器交易を開始・主導した勢力と，掌握に至った流通経路を復原する。
