Outline of Research at the Start

世界の富裕層家庭で働く女性たちは、性別役割分業に従って女性(妻)の仕事とされてきた家事・介護に従事し、富裕層女性に代って役割を担ってきた。こうした女性たちは、自身の子ども、病人や高齢家族の世話を自国内の家族・親戚や知人に頼むか、低賃金で雇用できる女性に任せ、海外に出稼ぎに出ている。そして、出稼ぎに出た女性に代わって家事・介護を行うのは、さらに貧困な国・地域からの移民女性である。この「ケアの連鎖」が、女性間に国境を越えた階層関係を生み出している。本研究では、ケアの連鎖構造を明らかにするとともに、国際移動する女性たちが、単に搾取や格差の深化ではない、新たな局面の牽引主体となっていることを検証する。
