Outline of Research at the Start

誰・何が、どこに、どのように存在するかに関する情報（地理情報）をデータ化し、管理し、分析し、視覚的に表現する技術（地理情報技術）は社会にとって欠かせないものとなっており、こうした人やモノの位置に重きを置く社会は「位置認識社会」と呼ばれている。それは、一方では人やモノの動きの効率的で円滑な管理を促し、人々の生活の質を高めるとされるが、他方では過度な監視やプライバシーの侵害などをもたらし、人々の肉体や精神を傷つける危険性がある。そこで本研究は、位置認識社会について批判的に考え、平等・公平・公正な地理情報技術の生産・利用を可能にするための視点・視角を理論と実証の両面から検討する。
