Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では近代から現代までの時間軸に広げ、日本の主要流域が直面した災害（主に地震・台風・洪水）と舟運を調査し、これまで構築してきた近代水陸交通の歴史GISデータベースをさらに強化していく。そして、災害大国日本の「災害時における舟運の利用可能性」を明らかにする。本研究の新規性は歴史災害から将来発生する可能性のある災害にまで焦点を当て、舟運がどこでどのように利用できるのかを歴史GISデータベースを用いて検証する点にある。
